The Siberian Husky is one of the oldest breeds of dog that originated in eastern Siberia. They were bred to pull heavy loads over a long distance through rough conditions. They were initially sent to Alaska and Canada as sled dogs but rapidly acquired the status of family pets and show dogs. Huskies have thick fur to protect them from the harsh cold weather, it also protects them against heat as well. They blow their coat twice a year. The eyes of a Siberian Husky are ice-blue, dark blue, amber, brown, or green. In some individual dogs, one eye may be brown and the other blue, or one or both eyes may be "parti-colored," that is, half brown and half blue. Females weigh about 35–50 pounds, and males weigh about 45–60 pounds. The Males height is around 21–231⁄2 inches, and females are around 20–22 inches. The husky's life span is about 12–15 years. Siberian Huskies are highly intelligent & friendly, they are not watchdogs. Huskies are good family pets, but must have a patient and devoted owner who will spend lots of time training and playing with them. These dogs may present difficulties for first time dog owners. "Animals are the family member you get to choose."
They aren't just pets, to me their family. I have been working with animals ever since I can remember, I started breeding three years ago & I love what I do. My puppies are raised indoor/outdoor and will be working on basic commands, housebreaking/kennel training, leash walking and car rides. They will be very well socialized with people, kids, cats and other dogs. I get the puppies ready to take on the world and help the new owner with the transition.
